I was just wondering what it is exactly that an aftermarket ignition can do for performance? Also, what are some other products that improve performance but dont necessarily have air flowing through them?Thanks...James [dance]

A stonger spark will cause the fuel to burn faster. Also, with Multiple Spark Discharge (MSD) ignintions, you get multiple sparks before the exhaust valve opens, helping to completely burn all the fuel, which of course adds hp. [Whoo Whooooo!]

Doesn't really make that much difference on a near stock motor but with a lot of power it helps out a ton [patriot]

Things without air would have to be fuel systems, underdrive pullies, electric fans and or water pump, etc.... [patriot]

Anything you can take off the car that it dosent need will make it faster. Pull the spare tire the carpet insulation stock seats hvac assembly and inner bumpers power steering and ac. There ya go no air flowing mods [worship]

The basic ignition parts you will need to have a siiiiiiick electrical system is as follows:

Ignition Box (6AL or better) with or without BTM
Ignition Wires [Big Grin]
Distributor/cap/rotor/gear etc...
Some nice Plugs
Coil
And after enough mods... A dyno tune with a custom burnt chip OR just pick up a PMS.

I prefer MSD for my entire ignition but some people have great luck with other products. MSD is the shit and I noticed a nice improvement after installing all of these components.

And if you really want to get performance with no airflow... Move the battery to the trunk. Actually over the right rear tire (or as close to it as possible) for the best traction on the right side of the car.

NOTE: Full rear suspension will greatly improve your power to ground transfer and gears are just savage. 3.55 or better!
