#2 - this is what happens to the self-contained, better oil using, non-seal issue having ATI's http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=326121

#3 - If you're going to get an ATI, DO NOT GET THE SELF-CONTAINED UNITS.

My .02 + .01[/QB]

Well, I knew John had the "D2R" blower and I thought it had a self contained oil system...I guess I was wrong...The "D2R" is actually an older blower and was replaced by the "F2" which has a self contained oil system...The first ever ATI blowers were oil fed...

Here's some comments on oil fed systems, by Black88GT

My Novi 2000 had bad bearings, and some of the metal got stuck in my oil pump. Be careful.
Paxton Rebuilt mine, and warrentied it for a year. It was 349. for the rebuild.

I can't defend a manufactures build quality, but I can tell you that having a self contained oil system is very beneficial....Would you rather have your blowers oil temp be 120-160 degrees or 210-250 degrees?....Any bad oil contaminants in your engine (fuel, water and blow-by) are going to be circulated through your blower bearings/seals..

Give me a reason how oil fed blowers are safer and more efficient...Prove me wrong, I want to learn!!!...

Thanx for all the feed back, lots to think about, i even tryed calling apex twice and left voice mails both times and never got a call back, so I came on here to ask, everyone has valid points, but it seems everyone I know or talked to has the Vortec and loves it, mabey I will end up with the S trim, this car isnt a sleeper so why not let it make some noise from the engine [Big Grin]
