I'd rather have a '99 cobra than a '94. Anything but that 94-98 stuff

When I had similar mods before like 4.6GT and raced a few 98 Cobra's I was able to stay ahead.

As much as I like my 5.0-
Let's see you hit over 106mph at that race weight w/ a 5.0 that has never had the valve covers off or any type of engine work- N/A. Be kinda tough to do. What are the 99 up GT's weighing in- 3450 or so?

my brother car traps at 107mph and could fall under this category, but he has an e cam and roller rockers...so you win...

I ran 105.3 per Jim's restriction(s) I think...
edit: in July heat too, 1500' D.A., easy 106 in the winter, about 100#'s net of weight reduction, if you include the fullsize spare/jack in that calc, otherwise like 50#'s of weight reduction, car had full belt, with A/C and smog and PS and everything... Stock HO intake, E7TE's? And you did not weigh in at 3400lbs..... [ June 26, 2003, 07:31 AM: Message edited by: FasterDamnit ]

ok you got me. I pulled 50#'s out of the car and ran the explorer intake. I'd trade the explorer intake for a bypassed PS pump and a race crank pulley any day.

Am I supposed to throw 250#'s in the trunk? (actually, if I run PSCA open comp, I have to run 330#'s in the trunk to make weight, lol)

Too bad you didn't continue to run that setup into the winter. 105 in august is moving, I'm sure the weather could have offset the intake.

raced 4 96-98 cobras and 1 2001 cobra at sac. beat them all. even stock I could take the 96-98 cobras. It took 4.10's and underdrives to take the 2001. a cobra with 4.10's is a different story, that should be fast. ray

Like I said, anyone who knows how to drive a cobra (dohc) correctly will spank the GT. There are some pretty pathetic drivers out there. To prove it I can tell you a story about a roush stage 3 I raced the other day. I don't know how I could take him by about 2 cars. He couldn't pull on me. Same thing happened when I raced a blue 03 cobra on capitol. He only took me buy 2 cars. My car is slow isn't it? I hate to brag but I gotta let it out sometime.
