Do you plan to keep the motor fuel injected?

Sounds like he is. I would go with a new harness from eather Painless Wiring or ford motor sports and their are probley a few more out their. This will let you retain all sencers and funtions of the ECM but be real easy to hook up.

First of all, no matter how you do it the engine will have nothing to do with your cars other functions i.e. headlights etc. The wiring for efi engines simply control how much air and fuel the engine needs, nothing more. To use a carb instead, you simply use a different intake. Fuel pump:if you want to use an electric pump then your ok. A mechanical pump will mean finding a timing cover from a pre efi car since the timing cover for that one will have no port for a fuel pump. All guages will hook up indifferently because, as I said before, the efi computer has no affect on anything but monitoring air and fuel
