at the corner of fremont and central is a church, i think you mean fremont and thornton, the only gas station on central is Valero. Well anyway, i used to pump 87 at that am/pm ARCO all the time, then i switch to the 91 at the 76 down the street... someone had told me that a higher octane wasn't nessesary without the timing advanced. well i kept my timing the same and pumped the 76 gas anyway, i noticed a difference almost right away. So i pump 76 now.

it does smell good too, even when it's burning and coming out my tips... the fumes wake me right up!

all i know is i get 30-40 less miles to a tank consistently with the 91 octane cheap brands. i use 89 octane chevron(dad's employee discount of 5 cents per gallon!) or 76 most of the time.

Yeah 76 has a big sign that says NO MTBE that I had never noticed before. I wish this thread was started earlier.

I looked and all I found were topics on how Arco is getting sued do to their leaking gas tanks seaping into the ground water. Theres alot of stuff on MTBE and ETHANOL which I reccomend all of you read up on just put either of those words into a search window on a search engine and your all set.
