yea as the topic says,,any difference between a 87 gt hatch,,,and the 88-93....any disadvantages of getting a 87 (performance/looks wise),,if anyone knows the help would be appreciated.....if i posted in wrong forum sorry =)

87 = no airbag, No mass air,trunk pop button in diff location
88 = Same as 87 unless a California edition?
89 = not sure
90 = Mass air, Air bags
91 = same as 90
92 = same as 90
93 = Hyperutectic pistons (bad for boost), more aggrssive ECM or was that only for the Cobra?

This is all I can remember, everyone can add on to this.

F8LPONY pretty much nailed it. '89s are mass air cars. 93 Cobras came with crappy computers. '91 and up GT's came with the nicer pony wheels, and it was an option on the LX's. Its been rumored that some LATE '92's also got the weaker pistons. I guess it depends what you're looking for. If you're going to keep it a stocker, a '87 or non california '88 car (speed density) will be a tad faster. If you're going to add a blower, change the cam, ect... get a mass air version.
