An 86 GT Hatch is a very obtainable car with the mods you listed, nothing special or in anyway comparable to this guys coupe.
An 86 5.0 coupe is rare and worth WAYYYYYYYYYYY more than a comparable or even slightly modded 86 Hatch.
Hell in 01 I sold a Special Service EX Cia Car with NO FRILLS for $6000.00 with 198K and it was NOWHERE near as clean as this one.
CA Fords and the CA Bay Area In general has no idea about half the real foxbody cars value. This car is a prime example of a very clean unmolested car, however 90% of the "Mustang Enthisiasts" havent the slightest clue of what they are looking at!!!
I would understand an ex special service vehicle, nut a standard coupe, wayyyyyyyyyyyy over priced.
Are you serious? The only difference was a set of 15 y/o silcone hoses and about 120k more miles! Oh and a buck tag that said speical service! I dunno the craze over chp or should I say "ex chp" cars is amazing, it means nothing unless it was original otherwise its a pounded into the ground mustang!

Yeah I don't understand why people are always raving about how their coupes were Ex-CHP's....
Manual Windows with a million miles and beat on harder then a mudafuka...
I always tell my friends this, IF you were a cop and they gave you a mustang to smash in all day, what would you do?
I know what I would do, I'd DAWG SHIT OUTA IT! Seriously, anything you brake will be replaced by a ford dealer anyway, I really don't get why people love Ex-CHP's.
I'd take an original V8 NON CHP Coupe over a SSP anyday!

The last time I owned an 86 notch like this it WAS 2001! I paid 2,800 for it then. If I had it now I'd ask around 6k plus for it.
I can count on one hand how many 86 5.0 5 speed notches in mostly original condition I've seen in person since I totalled mine in 01.
"The economy" is a piss-poor excuse for lowballing assholes who don't have the ends in the first place. Good cars sell for real money no matter what the current economic climate says. If you can't afford a good stang, then buy a shitty one.
I think the interior color may be hurting the sale of this car. Grey interior is easier to sell. Blue is still way better than Porno Red.

Hell naw, I'll take porno red over blue interior anyday. As long as its clean, interior conversions aren't hard to do though, just time consuming.
