you dont have to buy a chevy to enjoy an lsx.i got a gto and the ride quality and interior is light years ahead of any mustang.not to mention that the only thing my gto has is longtubes and a tune and so far ive sawed off quite a bit of the local sac mustangs. for example: 03 mach 1-tubular k member, longtubes, rear suspension, intake, dyno tuned 03 mach 1-intake longtubes,4.10's,handheld tune st 2 roush-lots of stuff.dont know what though 03 cobra-stock pulley, exhaust
the list goes on.

I'd rather drive a stock mustang than a beefed up ls1. I couldn't care less about the Ford vs Chevy rivalry. My issue is that the Chevy's are simply not as much fun to drive and don't have the adrenaline inducing exhaust tone of the Ford V8.
...but hey, do what makes you happy.

I'm more of a Ford guy, but everyone has to admit you can make and LS1 really fast, cheap. You can get a solid LS1 f-body right now for $5k, throw in $300 longtubes, $89 lid, $6 fernco smooth bellow, port your own throttle body,$500 catback and y-pipe, cam w/ valvetrain upgrade $800= 410 RWHP (maybe more)
Not bad.

If I was selling a Cobra I would do it for a nicely built Grand National or T-type, probably not for a LS1... but thats just me =)

Sawed off??? Last time we raced, I thought our cars ran pretty much close to neck & neck maybe with yours having a small advantage??
But since it was a roll race, & I believe it was from about 40mph, with stock 3.55's, my car isnt even in its powerband yet...
Of course u have shed quite a bit of weight since then so, the results would be different now though... [ December 30, 2008, 11:26 PM: Message edited by: EPIK ]

dont worry all i have faith, sometimes a man has to do some things to have true faith in what he knows is best....we will not lable him traitor yet, and when he comes back to path of righteousnes, and rebuilds a mustang. we shall accept him (and his appoligies) and we shall now know that his loyaties lie with fast cars i mean mustangs, it like the omish they send thier kids out at like 15-17 years old and let them experience the outside world, then the kids either leave and denounce thier faith or they come back and all is good......
