Does anyone ever go to Infineon Raceway on Wednesdays? I look at all the posts in here and they're all for Sac Raceway.

Is one better than the other? Better track preparation?

I've always gone to Infineon because its much closer to where I live. Most of the guys there say it's better than Sac....but that's their opinion. I've never been to Sac so I can't judge.

Not true. Whatever the NHRA rules are Infineon follows. So if your car is slower than 13.99 no helmet required.

I go to both tracks, and each had its advantage. Sac has Brandonn, who is cool as fuck and that aint at Sonoma [Big Grin] . Sac also lets you continue to run on a Wed night after you lose. Sac will usually be 15 to 20 degrees hotter, but does not have the headwind that you usually have at Sonoma after 5pm. Tech Inspection depending on speeds seem to be similar at both to me. The crowd at Sonoma tends to be a little older, and not nearly as many imports on a Wed night.

Infenion is more strict on the ruels, they go by nhra rule book(sometimes they mix up the rules tho). For me sac just checks my helmet and my battery hold down, thats it lol. The only downside to sac for me is how far away it is, i might start hitting up infenion cuz its closer.

No more Infineon. It is Sonoma now, but that may change soon so I am going back to calling it Sears Point. I race there. I'll be there tomorrow. The track is better than Sac, but you do almost always get a strong head wind. I haven't been to Sac in a long time, but in the past I had hooked better at Sears Point. The Wednesday night prep is not the greatest, but the track is very sticky on the weekend events. They just follow NHRA rules. I have gotten away with quite a few sub 11.50 runs without a cage and never got kicked out, but they have definitely been pretty pissed off at me before. I have been running all season without the blower on the car so hopefully that took some of the heat off after some sub 11.50's last year.

They added a stick shift class on Wednesday nights which has a pretty good group of cars in it. I have been having fun over there. Any stick shift car or truck over 11.50 can run in it. Come out and have some fun!

Damn it, I red lit in the final with a -0.011 and ran 11.603 on an 11.60 dial in! The track was super sticky and I actually got a 1.62 on my little 245 Nitto 555R drag radials, which I have never done before. They were hopping pretty bad though with these new Maximum Motorsports Extreme Duty Control Arms. I may have to go back to my Mega-bite Jr.s. I even still have the quad shocks.

Will Sonoma Raceway let me run on a Wednesday night with shaved door handles? I took the day off to run my pile of bolts next week but I am aware that it is an NHRA requirement to have handles. Is it even worth my drive out to take the chance?
