He just can't leave well enough alone. He didn't even need to put the auto in to beat my 10.84, he could have just let me drive the car.
Looks like he'll finally beat it next week.

Yep, I wish I would have built the shortblock like you did. I probably wouldn't have had to pull it out to swap the cam already! It would have had the better oil pump the first time, the timing chain wouldn't have been hitting the oil galley plug, and it would have had the correct oil pan gasket on it. The bad cam wasn't the builder's fault though.
I didn't want the car to be down that long so having a short block show up on a crate made the job a lot quicker. I didn't have time to keep running to machine shops and I didn't have much faith in any of them around here.

If you could get the same mph out of it with the auto, it would go 10.35! Every mph should be worth a tenth, so if you pick up 6mph then you should pick up close to 6 tenths if you keep the good 60ft. Every 10hp should be close to a mph as well, so if you just got 57 more hp on the dyno, then you are almost there. I think at that speed it probably takes more than 10hp per mph, but you have to at least gotten half way there. I am thinking 10.70 @ 125.5mph. You should just stop right there because I plan on running a 10.69 @ 130mph if I ever get that TKO in the car. I would have to buy new ET Streets though as well and I think I might put street tires on my extra rims instead for road racing.
