I copied this from a suggestion over on the Corral by Neil Van Oppre.
This is a much better way to race then brackets in my opinion. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

I was with you till I ran into number 8
also, you may want to review rule #17, that's the definition of index racing basically. [ March 20, 2003, 08:32 PM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]

Index racing is OK with me. Basically shoot for the lowest ET in your catagory, as long as rule 17 is not being abused.
As far as rule 8 goes, just through another seat and some carpet in and your good to go . [ March 20, 2003, 08:52 PM: Message edited by: John91coupe ]

well like with your car, say it can "only" run a 9.5, do you enter the 9.0 index with a built in 0.5 seconds of room to lose? no.
you go for the 10.0 class and have so much room to stand on the brakes it's not even funny.
I'm glad you got rid of those "stutter" boxes deal.
The only thing lamer than bracket racing is watching those 8.90 index cars launch hard and then lag for nearly a second at idle, and then go full throttle again.
my delay box beat your delay box?

Well, in my case I wouldn't go for the 10.0 class, I would go for the 9.0 class and make my car run better than 9.5. To me, it gives a person some incentive to go for the lowest tenth in his/her catagory. This is as long as rule 17 is strongly applied. Maybe it's just wishfull thinking on my part with a longing for the old way thay did things with classes and heads up racing. I'm dating myself now.
I agree with your last statement on that type of index racing with delay boxes, etc. Nothing more boring. [ March 20, 2003, 09:11 PM: Message edited by: John91coupe ]
