We'll see. I sure hope so. But you know how it is when you make a change.... Still have some more work to do. Need to do some grinding.

I'm always down for like 10x as long as the other guy doing the same mod(s), lol.
FWIW, I spent a solid 4 hours or so with grinding/test-fitting/bitching/swearing/cussing trying to get my longtubes around my McCleod steel bellhousing. Man grinding on steel takes forever

I wouldn't call a 290RWHP H/C/I 302 impressive. Compression is just a ratio. Cylinder pressure is what we're really after. & a cam with 6 degrees of overlap & fairly aggressive lobes 'should' be making more then enough cylinder pressure...but obviously it's not.
& I will give NO excusses. No matter what the outcome.

My goal all along has only been 300 rwhp and to run 'all motor' 11's.
I'm pretty sure I've got both goals in the bag. Just a matter of obtaining a dyno printout and a timeslip to confirm.
Call it weaknuts if you will, but it's all I ever wanted.

so what are your opinions on this int adv 294 exh adv 308 int @ .050 248 exh @ .050 258 int lift .573 exh lift .586
intake opens BTDC 35* exhaust closes ATDC 38* intake closes ABDC 79* exhaust opens BBDC 90* overlap 73* Lobe separation 114 Degree intake lobe to 112
so what are your thoughts on this cam being run on just a motor with 408 cubic inches and heads that flow 320/240 (.600), and what are your thoughts about this cam with 15 lb of boost from a novi2000 on the same motor? (no intercooler)
i'm interested to see what you think shaun.

Here's the valve events @.050: IVO: 12 BTDC IVC: 56 ABDC EVO: 65 BBDC EVC: 13 ATDC
25 degrees of overlap @.050 lift.
It's a pretty large cam. Ment for upper RPM power, even with the 408. Not much low-end, but mid-high end power will be....nice. Fairly agressive ramp-rate.
It's a bit too much overlap for an SC IMO. It'll blow the boost right out the exhaust before it's burned.
It'll work much better on a carb setup IMO.

yeah, it was in the shortblock when i bought it a year and a half ago. i decided to toss it in there and see what would happen, if it doesn't make power then who cares because it was free.
I plan on shifting around 6,500 rpm.
yeah i copied the events from the wrong side of the card.
I'm just hoping the power isn't climbing like crazy past 6,500 rpm.

BRO...I had this same damn goal with my LIGHT AS HELL GT...a few years back. My goal was 11.99 at whatever mph on motor. I took it to one of the Apex dyno days and had Byron burn me a chip. Got 298.7 to the rears that day and went to the track every Friday night for the next month or so. 12.0 then a 12.0 another 12.0 and a 12.0 did I mention I ran a 12.0. My car weighed in at 2560 before I got in and before I put the cage in. After cage and auto went in, first pass on motor 12.13, last pass that motor saw before I sold it was a 12.003. FUCK THE ELEVENS...however, the jug skipped the 11's altogether so I didn't care to much bout 11's anymore on motor

that's weird Team Solo, I'm at least 250#'s heavier than that in my light as hell coupe, and thus far horsepower calcs (on a granny+short-shifted pass) indicate 296 to the wheels assuming Sac's scale is accurate. What mph were you running? I'm assuming I'll be all over 113 mph if not 114 mph (best 112.9 on 3rd pass ever), maybe 11.8 but 11.99 will do

1.58-1.61 smokes my shit
I got down to 1.64 on a totally stock rear, then busted an axle trying to launch higher.
I got a spool and 3.73s in now and I'm counting on a 1.62 at least. I figure a 1.62 and 2 moderate speed shifts will put up an 11.99 at about 113.5 or so. I love rice-lying!!
maybe I need actual ET Drags now. will try on the worn ET Streets for now.

my first time out with a stock rear setup went a 1.72, was a 12.29 at 110 mph...then I had teh dyno tune, put in some factory five uppers n lowers and a set of lakewood traction bars....
i then went from a 3.73 gear to a 4.10 and a 28 x 10.5 ET Drag...picked up a tenth right there on that...with the stick my best was a 1.58 and with the auto w/ a 4g stall was a 1.58...
i will still hate you if you get an 11.99 but will have to give a your way if you do

With a typical 2.6-2.8 60' you may be right. We'll see how I do this weekend. Mayne someday I'll be good enough to be listed in the cafords fastest section.

red c5, you should run rob, his cobra is ~122 or more mph all day long. That would be a good matchup if you pickup a drag radial and get your 60' around 1.8 or lower. Course on grudge night without a rollbar that's a ticket off the track so...

weird, sawson's dumb ass told me our cars weighed about the same... 2,560+250 equals 2,810. My car is listed as 2,900 from the factory with no fluids or driver. that was also with an 8" c4 and 289 with a 2 barrel. Now the car has a 351w, efi, a 50lb supercharger kit, a 9" an AOD, the frame rails and sheet metal in the back of the car are 3 times the size of the weak ass stock crap and i've added a stereo system... how does sawson figure I lost 100 lbs from the factory #s? (other than his lack of knowledge of course)
my guess is that it's around 3,400 lbs with me in it.
Greg, did i mention Kevin said he wasn't going to put nitrous on his car until he ran a 10? Then on the day you drove DJ's car... Poof 10.96.

redc5, you show up to the track...pay your fees for entering and then go into the staging lanes. if you do not have anyone that you specifically want to run, they will put someone in the lane next to you. if you have someone that you want to run, have them pull up behind you in the staging lanes. when you get to the front of the staging lane, tell the person pulling lanes that you wanna run homie g funk master flash in the pinto behind you...they will set it up from there....
hope this helps
