I too was lucky enough to have my parents
Match the money I had saved to purchase my first vehicle and My buddy's brother was selling a 67 Camaro "white with blue rally stripes & hot 350 with a built 350 tranny with gear drive" for 3 grand and was shot down. Ended up with a V6 T-Bird which sucked but made the best of it and was happy just to have some wheels of My own!

This was in the late 80s, at a car show /swap meet at the Alameda County fairgrounds.

Back in college had the the opportunity to buy a neighbor's '69 Mach 1 for like $9K. I did not have the money (too busy paying for school expenses). Just heard from my dad that the car just sold for $65K last month ![[Eek!]](eek.gif) . Not sure if it was an s code or anything like that, but it looked all original and the seller was the only owner of the car.
