Hello Everyone,
I justed wanted to share my build on my 92 notchback .
Justin at Samberg Performance in Pleasanton just finished the headers tonight.
The engine is an LS9 built to handle 1,500hp. The twins are Precision 64/66. My power goals are 700rwhp on low boost using Holleys ECU self tuning system.

More pics anywhere? New to the Ford world myself. Always had Chevys in the past so, I like it!! :-D I've heard lots of good things about the Holley stand-alone self-tuning EFI. Keep us updated.

Depending on how thick the aluminum is it helps to make a couple pre heating runs down the joint to be welded. I don't usually round the tungsten over before I start welding. Also I use one size bigger tungsten than I would if it were steel and I get a really sharp point on it.. This keeps the ball on the tip of the tungsten smaller which keeps the arc tighter and less likely to wander! Sick car!! You'll get aluminum down no prob it's just time

looks like a nice build. Out cof curiousity, why not a ford motor? you could of made 700rwhp with a 347 and s trim

Stainless works makes up sweep turbo headers for lsx that work on fox bodies looks similar to what you had built. Hope you didn't pay more than 1100 for those custom ones I had custom headers built for an older project they cost me 1600

I ordered the headers from Chris at stainless steel works after he said it would fit my particular setup. They did not fit and it ended up costing me $250.00 to ship them back and a 20% restocking fee. I will never deal with them again!
I have yet to see the invoice but was quoted 2,200-2,500.
Looks like I was taken for. And it was my friends buddy. =|

^ I wouldn't be quick to think you got taken.. Building headers isn't like a set amount of time it takes .. It's always a shitload of time and materials aren't cheap

Depends on who does them. Sounds like you were taken pretty good IMO. $2000+ for a pair of upswept stainless turbo headers. Paying for a name. Like the build though. LS stuff is trendy, yes. But, it's proven and the aftermarket support is off the hook!! Build your car like you want it and have fun.

I have always been against these types of swaps myself. I would have to say that my friend slowly changed my thoughts into this matter.
If I were to do it over, I would go the route of the Coyote motor and twins.
