This is exactly why I did it, all the great times I had at the arcade plus its still fun. There aren't many arcades around anymore and the ones that are all have busted ass games. I took my son over to a arcade/miniature golf place and every game we played had some issue with it, you talk to the employees about it and they just throw a token at you and that's the end of it. No one wants to maintain shit, if it turns on and takes your money then oh well. My son deserves to have the experience I had with arcade games growing up. I love my PS3 and Xbox but arcade is in its own class. I rebuilt the steering on my Rush game, a new active steering belt, a new potentiometer and tightened the gears, it drives like a brand new game now. I also had to fix the shifter but it was all worth it. My Terminator is getting a replacement monitor today, I got a great deal on one and I'll rebuild the guns too, then I'm going to finish my MAME cabinet soon. My Ms Pacman has Galaga, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, 1942 and Frogger on it. My MAME machine is an old arcade cabinet that I got a X-arcade Tank Stick controller to mount, a P4 computer running Hyperspin with thousands of games and an LCD monitor if I can swing it. Once my MAME machine is done I'll be selling the Ms Packman/Galaga.
Here's the controller I got to fun my MAME on. Its built with all actual arcade controls and a trackball with a lifetime warranty, its seriously a beast of a controller but with a hefty price tag.

I worked all day on my MAME computer trying to get shit running right and was having problems with my brand new X-arcade controller. I decided to open up the thing and found wires had just fallen off the switches because the connectors weren't tight enough, another one they broke when they bolted the directional control in! I'm pissed, these things were supposed to be bullet proof but being built in a retard factory I'm beginning to wonder!

I got the cabinet off Craigslist, I'm using either a TV or an LCD monitor for the screen and building my own PC for the brain of the system. I got some decent computer speakers with a sub for the sound. The hardest part is getting the computer to run the front end and work with the emulators. They make several different ones and I'm trying them all out to see what works best. They will actually hide Windows so the computer will boot directly into the front end where you select your games. If I figure this shit out I'll help you with getting the PC set up. Here's a link to the controller, its the easiest way to do it in my opinion. http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Arcade-Tankstick-Indestructible-Arcade-Gaming-/310342477126?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4841da6546 Just be sure to check all the connections inside

I just picked up an NBA Jam today, its got a 4 player control panel, its a solid case too. The guts are still in it, I just took the monitor out for my Terminator 2. If I decide to sell it I'll let you know, I was trying to decide if I should build that one for my MAME machine since its more complete than the other cabinet I have. You can buy guns and stuff off eBay.
