514 mullet: from the research I've done I can get the swap done for around 10k. Only issue is coming up with that much cash. I missed a golden opportunity not too long ago

302DROP: those are custom gauges I ordered from speedhut.

92stanglx: yeah man ur right about the termi's being fast. From the few I have test driven they haul balls stock. Now I know I never should have driven one since its screwing with my mind lol.

Asskickn88: man I saw ur car up forever & I know u took a hit on yours. Now might not be the best time 2 sell it

707vibrantcobra93: I agree with you saying go after what I want. But im 22 in school so I know I could get that cobra eventually. But I think me keeping it & building it wiuld be best. My car with a 04 swap would be killer compared 2 just a newer one

N8: yeah its kinda like taking one step back but taking 2 steps forward. Lose a little to gain what I want. Did u decide on that mach yet?

Jordan0806: J man quit playing. Now im wondering what I could swing if I sold it for that little. Lol

EXcobra/LS1NOW: Yeah bro I know what u mean. Once u get to that wall where u gotta build a motor it gets tough. I respect the ls1 cars for their ability to bolt on power. But once u put a solid bottom end in a 4v & throw boost @ it the possibilites are endless. Plus I know u would be especially pissed if u got beat by a 96-98 cobra since u used 2 have 1. Lol

N8: yeah man being grown up is the pits. Ima ride out this young man wave long as I can. I got some other monies coming in probably beginning of feb. if it all looks right I might be putting it up for sale if I can't find a 03/04 swap

I am curious to know who offered to do an 03 Cobra swap for 10k. The drivetrain alone cost that. I can realistically tell you from experience. Whatever you think it will cost, double that price.

Talked 2 a highly reputable shop on these boards. Around 3k for the removal, install & tune. Had the motor, trans, ecm, cluster & everything for a little under 7k. If I could have gotten the money I would have had a terminated 96 for 10k or maybe a lil less if I pulled my own motor. Like I said I missed a golden opportunity [Embarrassed]

Actually no I wouldn't be mad, Would be happy cause I still love mustangs An when I make more money an can afford to make a mustang go fast I'll have one again! O an believe me If I had the money to for the bottom end an a procharger I would still be in the cobra right now!

F#ck it T, keep that B**ch & build it how u want eventually!!! Terminators are dime a dozen. It aint always about being fast. Both of my cars are relatively slow, but damnit, they look good. Your car is the cleanest 96-98 Cobra on this board IMO, & its unique. Yeah an 03-04 Cobra is gonna be fast, but IMO, they all look the same & they are boring to me.... I dont care if I get whipped all day, I would rather look clean before being the fastest, especially at your age....

Your car with a built bottom end & your choice of forced induction will whip on a pullied Cobra all day.... & look more unique doing it....

D thanks 4 the compliments man. I think the gereal concensus has been to keep the ride & build it or just drive it. Not only is the market bad to be selling but I shouldn't be in a rush to jump into more debt.

Think I will stack up my cash & keep the car. I figure when the right deal comes along I will know it & be able 2 act on it

You mentioned your still in school, so I would make sure to focus on finishing that first. You have a nice car already, so be patient. Once your done with school, then you can look into treating yourself to another car. I was recently looking to get an 03/04 Cobra myself (that or a newer vette), but with prices of homes being as low as they are, I think it would be wiser to invest in more property.

Its funny u mentioned the house thing. Me & a buddy are supposed 2 be trying to get into a house by the end of the year. But I want an 04 & he wants a zO6 haha. But ur right about it being a better investment. I figure once I start my career I can splurge a lil. But patience is definitely a virtute
