I typically don't waste my time arguing politics on car websites, but I think the picture at the top is a response to the fact that congress (currently controlled by democrats)are saying "NO" to drilling for oil, nuclear power plants, and coal as means of reducing our current high energy costs. They (Many Democrats) only want quick fixes of renewable resources which currently don't exist in a realistic format to server a huge country such as the U.S. -Sorry that's true.
The majority of Republican senators want to tap in to our natural resources and invest in Nuclear power to ease this economic slump we are in and relieve some burden from the American people. We MAY not see the benefits the next day, but it would lower our costs in the long-term.
Also don't forget that when President Bush gave a speech about a week ago putting greater pressure on Congress to lift the off shore drilling ban, the price of a barrel of oil dropped by about 7 dollars (that quick) during his speech! So other countries (who produce oil) are watching us very closely. If we start using some of our oil, we need less from them, and they'll raise their production and in return lower how much we spend at the pump. ----It's not politics, its the truth.

One other point to ad to Fordmandan's post-
the DEMOCRATIC sponsored bill to release oil from the STRATEGIC OIL RESERVE just got voted down, (thank the gods, or allah, or your shoe, etc.)-
Quick rundown:
Strategic: Strategy, as in a plan to save all our asses.
Oil: That funny stuff underneath all those guys in funny hats that know how to blow stuff up.
Reserve: A large as hell stockpile, just in case those guys in funny hats cut off the supply they send us.
Don't get me wrong, the same anus that Democrats suck, already has Republican lipstick on it- but Jesus De Christo, releasing our strategic reserves smacks of shithead insanity!
Oh, and dont forget to vote for Fidel Castro!
