Well I finally finished up my black interior conversion on my GT. Came out pretty nice and beats porno red. Anyway....I want to do something with my ash-tray area and was just wondering if any of you folks out there has done anything interesting with that area? I was thinking fabricate a mp3 setup for my Zune there. Just curious what others have done if anything. Hell maybe they already have a bunch of different conversions for the ash tray area.

PS, I have a arm rest delete kit in if it matters.

Ideas, pics, flames and advice welcome.

BTW - ACC carpet kits suck from 50resto. Spend the extra 50-60 and get the better carpet.

nah I have the whole ball of wax, my ashtray door even works. But I dont smoke so I just want to do something with that area. I have the arm rest as well, but opted for the smooth look of the arm rest delete kit.

I have been a bit more enthused about my car lately so feel like working on it.

I used this, can't see it but there was a running pony in the middle of the switches etched in. Blue for electric fan and red for bottle warmer and larger red for giggle gas. Plate it gone now...sold it with my zex kit. Have a working ashtray lid now and just go with the smooth look.

Nate you have the center arm rest? What condition is the upper pad in?? [patriot]

I pulled the ash tray itself out since I don't smoke either, and my phone fits inside there as if it was made for it, when I'm out of the car I just close the lid.

I also have the stereo jack ran through to there for my mp3 player, I plug it in and rest it in there as well.

nothing trick or custom, but it works for me.

I was thinking about doing some switches like that too. But I kinda wanna do something out there. I may try to fab some kind of mp3 jack deal.

I'll check on the pad. Last I checked it was just dusty.
