I hate flying with a passion as well - mainly due to a REAL bad flight I had several years ago when I flew out to Washington DC. I had to fly out to Omaha, NE a few months back for business, and I went to see my Dr. beforehand about getting some pills to chill me out. She hooked me up with some Ativan/Diazpam, I took a couple before my flight and I slept like a baby each hop. Smoothest plane ride ever, too.

Don't drink to help yourself, do the right thing and go see your dr. if you need to chill out on your flight.

Oh yeah, check out this site's forum: http://www.fearofflying.com/message.htm - there are people there who can answer your questions and also some suggestions on how to prepare yourself for the flight...things to think about, reasons to not freak out, etc. Also, you can post up your flight # and stuff there and someone on the forum will track you while you're in the air. It sounds stupid, I know, but for some reason it has a psychological effect that calms you down when you know someone is looking out for you and watching your progress.

Some good advice, the safety record of Trans Atlantic flghts are very good. I've flown a lot this year (for me) and i take my mind off it by thinking about what I need to be doing when I get where I am going !

Practice your french (if you need to)

Mark
