at the end of the day I was driver around the new track at thunderhill. they will finish paving it this week. it is very technical with a lot of elevation changes. it wont be fast. it 36'wide. power will be going in in a week or two and a building is being built for control and timing/scoring.

How long is the new section again? I remember watching a video of a golf cart going through the new track before it was paved...didn't look very technical in that video. But if you say it is, I definitely believe you, Mike!
Do you know when it will be open?

it will open at the end of june. it will be 2 miles long. the first event will be HOD then motorcycles. norcal Shelby club will be using the full cource august 2-3. the new track will be slick until it gets a little rubber on it. NASA will be their august 30-31 so it should have some good rubber down on it.

Shelby Club is doing Mini-Nats at Sonoma August 2-3, per their website.
I was disappointed that the new course was not completed in time for the May Shelby event, as I was told that the track would be ready in time. Typical construction project.

Looking forward to going out there to check it out. Although I still need a lot of practice on the original track. So I'll be skipping the new track for a while.

agreed. the two tracks dont mesh well at all. its like they didnt make it as an addition to the old track but just a whole new track.
