If I take a 302 that only has the stock crank, rods and pistons, freezeplugs, cam bearings into a machine shop, what would it cost for them to clean the block, bore and hone, install new cam bearings and install a 347 stroker kit.. im bringing the 347 stroker kit..I just want to get a ballpark price on labor.

Thanks cafords

Clean the block bore and honed should be around $600

And if your capable of doing the install yourself it will save you a lot of $$$$ [patriot]

yeah the general machining is pretty cheap ( bore, hone, clean ) but installing the internals is what gets you.

if you're having that done, its almost cheaper to simply buy an assembled stroker short block.

The machine shop we use only charges $300 for assembly so on top of black work, your lookin roughly at about 1k for machine work and assembly, buy one of those $6/700 kits Epic was talking about and your into a 347 for less than 2k with Gaskets..decent deal but still a stock 302 block lol
