So I bought a 67 mustang with a 89 fox 302 and it doesn't have a heater, so while looking for the fittings to use on the intake to route a heater I noticed lines from my water pump and intake go to an adapter that my oil filter is mounted to...what is it?? Can I take that whole peice off and mount the filter without it? Then use the lines for my heater?

Won't hurt anything right? So the oil filter will just screw in where the adapter is when I remove it?

Yes. You are 100% ok to take it off and run without it. Yes again. Oil filter will screw in after you take the oil cooler off.
