Did anyone read his post the engine was ran without oil pressure before the build, its most likely a lower end problem. Sounds like you know the rod knock sound you probably have one if you ran it without oil pressure and didnt fix it

If your running a high volume pump with a stock pan etc you probably have no oil in the bottom end. HV pumps are meant for high capacity pans and hi-po motors and what have you. A stock 302 with hci has no need for a HV pump. Switch it out and get back to us

post a video to youtube so we can hear the sound. If the engine lost oil pressure before and you didn't rebuild the bottom end (at minimum the bearings) its going to have the same problem my friend.

how thin of oil are you running? also i've had clearance issues with those valve covers and 1.7 rockers. i've seem them tap the baffles.
