Author Topic: 351 swap question Ryan_LX ¯ Member # 7089 posted                              I really want to go with a 351 in my 90 hatch, my biggest and only obsticle is obviously smog and all the limitaions. Is there any way to throw a 351 in there and have it legitimately "california legal?" Is there a special procedure I would have to follow? Any info, advice, personal expiriences would be appreciated. -------------------- Jesus is king! Posts: 4200 | From: 209 | Registered: Jun 2007  |  : CRS24WILSON ¯ Member # 9979 posted                              You can use all the stuff thats on your 302 but you will need different brackets for the a/c and power steering. they sell kits for it on summit or jegs. all the smog stuff will work also. i know you will need a different intake manifold, oil pan and exhaust manifold for the conversion. but it is possible to make it legal. ill see if i can find the complete write up on it and post it later Posts: 245 | From: SAN JOSE, CA | Registered: May 2010  |  : copcar ¯ Member # 10113 posted                              FYI my fathers 351 with 64cc afr 185's, Fcam and 1.7's and GT40 intake passes Texas emissions cleaner than a stock car. Bassani Catted X with shortie swap headers and all emissions equip on the car. -------------------- 12.37@ 109.34.NA 894DA Old Nitto 555 DR's Gt40 irons. B cam/1.7's, All emissions equipment on the car, stock air box. UPR catted X pipe.
