Hello,
I'm looking for a Ford mechanic to help my brother in Chico with his V8 Triton in an Excursion. Symptoms are pinging and mis-fire. I would appreciate any referals. Please email me at n_chang@pacbell.net
Thanks, Norman 650 520 0998

Yep Ford has a recall on the coil Packs. They misfire and ping and loss of power. Mine was a 2006 f-150

Norman, the coils do go bad, but there is no recall, only a service bulletin. I don't know of anyone up there to help you out this time. Have him just talk to a driveability guy at the dealer and see if he will do it on the side. We're all horny for a buck, so it's worth a shot. Good luck, Paul
