I just got my clutch replaced I want to upgrade my stock unit to a short throw unit. I was thinking of a pro 5.0 or steeda tri-ax.
What should I look for when selecting one?

had both and my personal preference is the pro 5.0. Can't really go wrong with either though. The B&M ripper shifter is quiet nice also.

Pro 5.0 is nice. I also liked my Hurst. With the Hurst you never missed the gate going into 3rd.

Thats whats in the Cobra, love how short it is and tight it feels and it just clicks into gear, alot better than the Tri-Ax imo.

I like the action of the Tri-Ax much better than the Pro-5.0, which I think is a boring shifter. I also have custom cut/welded short handles for quicker action!

I personally like the pr0 5.0 better than the Tri-ax I have a tri-ax in my daily driver and it feels a little sloppy compared to the pro 5.0

HURST! best shifter i've ever driven.I've used all the shifters listed above except for the steeda tri ax, so i can't bad mouth that, but the rest of them all felt like cheap pieces of shit. I've driven 3 cars with hurst not including my own and they all felt just as well. my .02. [ July 17, 2007, 06:06 PM: Message edited by: svfreerider87 ]

Another vote for MGW...I have had the Tri Ax & recently switched it out for the MGW. The Tri Ax was good, but was too notchy IMO...The MGW is butter.

i've had both hursts, b&m ripper, pro 5.0, & tri-ax. tri-ax was my favorite then pro 5.0, but i recently tried my cuzzins b&m "pro-ripper" which feels the best of all... curious about the mgw as well.

I think the MGW is one of the shortest short throws out there, like i said it just clicks into gear, smooth as silk.
