I'm having a problem deciding which one to go with 3.55s, or 3.73s. Just curious what people reccomend.
Its a 5spd 94 Gt with 18 Saleen rims Cold air Cobra MAF 65mm T/B Cobra intake 24lb injectors Cobra heads Cobra Computer w/chip Hooker shorty headers hi-flow cat x-pipe Flowmaster 2chamber catback
I drive about as much on the freeway as I do around town. Please leave me some feedback. I've checked out the RPM calcuator, but just cant make up my mind. Help me out!! Thanks Bobby

this topic of discussion comes around alot. gear it high if you want a little extra umph but of course you know that if you consistantly are hittin the go pedal you're gas milage wont be good either way.

i just got my 3.73's in about 2 weeks ago. they are great i definetly dont regret it. i spin 2300-2500 on the freeway just cruisin. it makes 5th gear really manageable. i have an 89 and i dont know if the drivetrain differs between the foxes and the 94/95's, but if its all the same then i definetly suggest 3.73's.

If you are on a budget... I have used 3.55's out of my car. 12k miles on them. No idea if they fit in your car.

I replaced my 2.73 stock gears with 3.55's in my 94. It was good for awhile but I regret not going 3.73 I did a good amount of freeway and would have sacrificed a couple hundred more rpm's. [ October 19, 2006, 09:05 AM: Message edited by: slidewayz94 ]

Last week i didn't know much about gears except that my car needs them. Then I talked to JohnB and he answered my questions So now i'll pass along what i learned. He told me 99% of the time you dont need a rebuild kit unless you hear noises already. He also said use Royal Purple Synthetic 75w140.

Remember short gears = High RPM, Thus wearing out the motor sooner. I like my 3.55s. Good launch and high speed. If your a short tracker. Go with the 3.73s.

If your torn between 3.73's and 4.10's go with 4.10's
