depending on how good of driver you are and what kind of tires... well lets just say you should get some e.t. streets and you should look at around mid-12's

Did you have it dyno tuned? If so what kind of dyno were you on, and what were your #s? Depending on tune, traction, wheather, and track condition low to high 12's. Take it to the track its only 20 bucks. ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif)

I'll guess low 13s to high 12s also depending on your tranny and if your car can hook.
A good 60' can probably get you into the low to mid 12s. ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

the only way to find out is to go the track and practice your 60's then let us know, by the way what's the weight different between a fox coupe to a gt fox.

Too many variables. My advice is find a setup that made the power you're lookin for and model after that. You should be able to predict more accurately after you have a power # and vehicle weight figures to play with. Personally I don't like the TFS #2 cam, especially in a 302 with 165's.
My convertible weighed 3340 no driver with pony wheels and 3/4 tank of gas.

3340? damn. that's not bad at all? I always thought they would weight more.. way more.
Is that the stock weight or did you do any weight saving mods? Thanks.

Only weight saving mod was the spare tire/jack. It's still heavy compared to a coupe, but not as heavy as I thought it'd be either.

with those mods..he'd be lucky to break 300RW...I'm thinkin more around 265 to 270...so 11's are otu of the question at your weight...look for around low 13's to high 12's....
take a look
a. base AFR heads non-ported b. base Edelbrock intake....not port matched c. Step up from stage 1 cam...really good choice but your heads and intake probably dont flow enough for you to get the full potential d. pretty much normal bolt on's from there....
for fox body's..it takes about 320 to 330 RW on a good hook to run 11'9's.......just ask jaybquick....he ran an 11.92....and he'd stomp a mudhole in that car....
Whoever said 11.99 and whoever agreed.....No way unless he weighed abtou 2700 lbs. with driver [ July 10, 2005, 03:09 PM: Message edited by: jordan0806 ]

AFR 165's, RPM intake and the right cam (TFS 2 is not it) are enough to run an 11 sec time. My tired 302 with low oil pressure made 337 SAE. It took a big cam and notched pistons to do because the shortblock was in bad shape. If it was in good shape power shoulda been in the 350's SAE. My 306 did 340 with a good shortblock and a smaller cam that'd pass smog with cats on it. I never pursued max ET but it surely had 11's in it.
I just saw you're from woodland. I grew up there and visit some friends still in town. I raced a couple guys out there once and they swore I had a 351 or was sprayin nitrous, lol Guess they never seen a good runnin all motor 302 ![[Eek!]](eek.gif) [ July 10, 2005, 07:24 PM: Message edited by: AaronC ]

I think the only 4 302's that ran 11's NA on this site were all over 2700#'s empty (some a lot over) and three at least were in the 315 rwhp range one a little higher. The lightest was probably mine @ 2980#'s raceweight, the rest were probably 3250#'s raceweight or so. Unless there's been some more that I missed in the last year or so.

i put the weight out there because I KNOW he doesnt weigh that..plus he's prob not make 300RW so I don' think it will run an 11.99 with the weight and HP combo
I ran a 306 against my stoker 347...untuned my car put down 292 RW, 262 TQ....we were DEAD even....there was NO WAY I was running an 11.99. and he had the EXACT same combo that dude is running but he has an x-cam instead......Now tuned I gained nearly 50 HP and 100 Ft TQ......and thats enough ....I just simply dont thing he has enough to get into the 11's N/A with his combo.....but mid 12's sounds just abotu right [ July 10, 2005, 11:19 PM: Message edited by: jordan0806 ]

I could see 280 rwhp and 3200# raceweight running an 11.99 in great weather say with 4.30s and a 28" slick. I doubt the mph would be much over 110 though and you're probably going to need a bunch of chassis work.
I'm a believer after watching some of the VW bug guys yank the wheels to 12.0s or so at 110 threatening to trip the 60' beams with their rear tires. Getting that kind of transfer on a front engine iron smallblock/rwd platform is going to be tough though-- hence the bandaid 28x10" slick.
not typical, but for a "what if/perfect pass/hand 'pro' driver the keys" I'd say 'possible'
Now rephrase the question to "what can I expect first couple times out", and count me in for 13's/14's or 12's depending on tire. ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)
