My friend has a 97 gt. He tried to get a smog but they wouldnt pass him because he doesnt have a carb sticker. What should he do?

if he had a stock intake i wouldnt be asking.... its a legal intake, but since he doesnt have the sticker, he cant pass.

Have your friend call Mac and get the CARB number. Then go to this web site and print out the carb information and take it with you.

If the shop is being that picky then I would also find a different shop to do the smog.

Yeah, I don't think MAC intakes are CARB legal. But BBK's are. You could get a sticker from BBK.

if i remember right its the other way around , the bbk's are not smog legal and the mac's are. just call and get the carb number or tell them to send you another sticker.

BBKs are smog legal.

Tell your boy to look on Ebay . I've seen a few stock intakes for cheap on there. Better to have the OEM part when you need to pass the visual part of the test...imo good luck
