Topic: smog question w/ mac intake

My friend has a 97 gt. He tried to get a smog but they wouldnt pass him because he doesnt have a carb sticker. What should he do?

if he had a stock intake i wouldnt be asking.... its a legal intake, but since he doesnt have the sticker, he cant pass.

Yeah, I don't think MAC intakes are CARB legal. But BBK's are. You could get a sticker from BBK.

if i remember right its the other way around , the bbk's are not smog legal and the mac's are. just call and get the carb number or tell them to send you another sticker.

Tell your boy to look on Ebay . I've seen a few stock intakes for cheap on there. Better to have the OEM part when you need to pass the visual part of the test...imo
