I am getting a custom cam ground for my 347. It will have .600 lift and the cam builder said I should have a spring with 380 to 400lb when fully open and about 130 to 150lb on the seat. I will be running Comp Cams stock type roller lifters and 1.6 rockers. Right now I have AFR 185s with the 1.43" OD springs and a 1.8" installed height. I will be installing titanium retainers.
My question is, what spring should I run to keep valve float away at least until 6500rpm. I am looking at Comp 987-16s go HERE(2nd row 2nd column) or Crower 68382-16 go HERE (page 33 of 42)
Any other recomendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thats a healthy cam But i have no idea about the springs, the cam grinder probably knows best, so anything within his specs would probably work fine

The comp springs will NOT cut it. The best springs I've used have come from Ed Curtis. 425lbs on the nose w/145 seat, XE lobes w/.600+ lift & over 7000rpm without valvefloat. www.flowtechinduction.com
Ask for the Pure Street springs. Those things rev to 8K in race cars with stock lifters.

Another vote for the PS style springs. Ed is a valvetrain genius.
