Did you guys do anything to make it look like you still have cats on?? I just put on a bassani off road x and I'm worried that the I'll get busted for not having cats. I've been pulled over 3 times in the past month for stupid things and one of those times the cop made me pop my hood and asked if I had still had my cats, said my car sounded loud (luckily I still had the catted version on) also asked if I had a CARB number for my K&N intake. All 3 times it was in Foster City How are you guys getting away with it?? ANy suggestions would be appreciated......

Never have had any problems with my set up but then again, like the two above posters mentioned, I also don't drive like an idiot.
If your that worried about it have your muffler shop weld cat shields on the pipe so if the officer taked a look it will appear to have cats. Play stupid if they ask you also like this,"What are cats? I'm sorry officer I bought the car this way and it seemed to pass smog when he sold it to me."

If you have a manny, coast it when you see a cop nearby. Look around before you Rev at someone 'cause modded exhaust on ANY car can be heard farther than you think. If you drive normal and shift early, you shouldn't get pulled over so much, unless those cops@FC have a thing for you.

I guess this is only an issue in the South Bay?? I've never got pulled over here in S.F. and a few cops have actually said "nice ride...sounds good."

does that make sense to any one?? " i have to jack my car up to get a jack under it"?? but to answer the original question, i have an o/r H on my car and have never been stopped for it. The only time i would worry about a cop even looking for something like that is if you were at a big street raceing event. other then that i wouldnt worry about it.

I think he meant fitting a floor jack... I have to do the same with my Cobra too (lowered about 2 inches + in front)... I use the jack that came with the car and lift it until the floor jack can fit underneath in the front... Ya, its a pain, but its the only way I can fit a floor jack unless I drive the car up on ramps or on a couple of 2x4s stacked accordingly...

I can't make out his name on the ticket he gave me. But his serial number is 39 if that means anything. He pulled me over before for no license plate and this past saturday gave me a ticket for tinted windows . I guess I really won't trip cuz I don't drive like an idiot either... at least not around town. And Ive got the same problem about my car being lowered. Takes two jacks to raise the car, the stock one ta raise it enough to get the the 4-ton underneath....Thanks for the ideas though I might go look for some cats to gut out.

You guys are over doing it, it's not that hard to jack my car up. I just roll onto a couple 2x4's and call it a day.
