The Novi is is being taken off the car and i'm sending it back to Paxton for repairs. The seal is already gone(leaking oil into my discharge tubes) with ~350 miles on it.
I suprised that you guys think it will only run 12's on slicks. I'll be on 17" Nittos BTW. I'm thinking 11.9's on the Nitto's is reasonable. Only one way to find out though.

Wouldn't you know it...that 'weak-nuts' cam I have sitting in the garage would be a near perfect fit.

OMG... I feel so stupid right now. I'm suprised nobody asked this, since it's just a bit difficult to estimate a ET/MPH without knowing a vehicles weight. My car wieghs 3350 with driver.

I have to agree. Jeff needs to practice what he preaches and ditch that TFS cam for a custom cam, ditch the Novi to go turbo and ditch the TFS heads for AFR 185's. Its kinda shady for him to promote super-duper AFR's, custom cams and turbos when in his garage sits(sat) a S trim'd, TFS headed off the shelf the cam car
We already know the car runs 10.6's@134mph with an S trim, off the shelf cam and TFS heads.
The NA combo you listed sounds similar to TheBrain's old 331. He had AFR 165's, TFS-2 cam and a GT40 intake. I think it made 315 rwhp and ran 112 mph in a heavy vert. You have more head and intake than him, not to mention less weight. I'm going to guess 350 rwhp all motor and 115 mph just because its been so long that you've made a pass down the track, your skills aren't up to par compared to TheBrain
So what happened to the Novi2000 and Ed Curtis super-duper-fly custom cam? [ May 01, 2003, 10:49 AM: Message edited by: st5150 ]

I have never once stated nor promoted that AFR heads are better than TFS. For the record, if I were to re-build my combo I would use the exact same heads. For forced induction applications I have not seen any other head give as good of results on the amount of cars as the TFS heads have. For NA combo's it seems that the past 2 years the AFR heads have been the "head of choice" giving the best results for most combo's.
Regarding the custom cam, I do have an FTI cam on my shelf and like I have stated in the past I plan on doing some back to back dyno tests with the current cam against the FTI custom cam and I and will post the results for all to see.
Regarding the tubo vs. supercharger issue. I have never stated that turbo's are "better". I have stated that turbo's take less HP to operate, that they are more efficient, and make more power at a given boost level when properly sized compared to a properly sized centrifugal supercharger. Their are advantages and disadvantages to each. I choose a blower for my own reasons(cost, ease of install, the fact it looks "SICK" ). [ May 01, 2003, 10:37 AM: Message edited by: Jeff S ]

The only change being made will be the tune and the gas.
