My car just got a tune up a month ago. Walnut Creek Ford said the surging is due to my MAF-and that it needs to be replaced. Finally replaced it yesterday, still doing the same thing. The car actually hesistated and backfired when i tried to hammer it on first. I'm thinking about bringing the car back in for diagnosis, but hoping that I don't need to pay for it since they gave the wrong diagnosis. Does anyone else have this problem??? What could it be?? Any suggestions will be appreciated. I'll probably be heading back to the dealer to have it diagnosed again. I just want to avoid replacing another good part in my vehicle, just like what i did with MAF. Spent $200-when the previous one was not even the problem. And of course, no should would accept any returns on electronics! I hope to find the main culprit.
