Is it bad to spray water directly onto your motor?

No question is ever a stupid question!!!!

It wont hurt it just dont do it all the time. Do not directly spray on your plug wires or around your coil packs exc....

Its allways better to steam clean it every once in a while instead of just spraying it with water and hoping for the best!!!!

think of you engine as a water resistant watch. a littl water is not going to hurt it but you are not going to go diving with it

what i like to do is wash the engine the take an air hose and blow dry it or towel it down on the important parts.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. See I found this stuff we use at work called Awesome cleaner its on www.Awesome-products.com and It says good for paint, motors, break dust, just about safe on anything even paint. Well I use Macguiers wheel cleaner and it takes a while and usually leaves a little break dust on the wheels. I sprayd this stuff on my rimms and the break dust just immediately ran off my rimms. this is the shit dude. I wanted to try it on my moter.

simple green and some elbow grease should do the trick. Otherwise, GUNK seems to work pretty painlessly.
