I had a spec clutch in my Cobra and it was stiff as hell. It also broke on one edge causing a vibration. I just installed a King Cobra and am happy with it so far.

I am pretty sure that the Lakewood SFI approved bell housing requires a longer clutch fork. This is due to the thickness, and overall size of the bell housing, as opposed to a stocker. I know McLeod sells a longer one, and I beleive Lakewood, and Ford Racing has one too. Your cable at the fork is probably at quite an angle I assume?
Also, are you running a firewall adjuster? What is going bad on the cables you have gone through... and who did you get them through?
