Yeah, I'm slacking. I need to get both my stangs on the list. If I can do it before this season is over I will. The coupe is running great now & I gotta see what the coyotes gonna run. Hoping for mid 12's or better. Hoping for high 11's or better out of the coupe [ 2014-10-13, 10:31 PM: Message edited by: FivePTSlow ]

I liked it. Much improved. Not nearly as bumpy on the big end, traction was super consistent. Can't wait for next time to let some air out of the slicks and go 11's!

Yup, I forgot my good tire gauge. The one I brought said 12psi, so I left the pressure alone. I came home they were both actually at 20psi. I think a few psi less and I could launch a lot harder.

VERY impressive. you will see 11's soon. Don't get too comfortable as soon as the grey car runs you will be moving back a spot.

Thank you, it's much faster than expected. I was expecting mid/high 12's since i have hardly any mods & still new to driving it. Good for my first time out i think. A little friendly competition makes me run better that's for sure.
I think with more seat time, a WOT shifter, less PSI in the slicks, & less fuel in the tank 11's shouldn't be too hard. Especially if i move to a 28" slick like i should have since i have 3.73's. The 26" tires are a bit shorter than my street tires as you can see.

113mph you should be low 12s to high 11s. Your 60s definitely need to come down a lot. Seems the chassis may not be working to its fullest.

Agreed. I think 20psi in the slicks was too much. I forgot my digital psi gauge at home. The cheap one i was using said 12-14psi all night so i didnt want to air down. When i got home i checked them they were at 20psi. It hooked good, didnt bog, didnt spin.
I think if I air these down a little, & install an n2mb WOT shifter and practice a little more Ill run 11's. Especially if i go out with less fuel in the tank. I had 3/4 tank when I started racing and just barely under 1/2 tank after my 12 runs.

Lots more in it with seat time. Here's a video of my first day at the track with the following mods: E85 tune (404HP STD corrected, 390SAE) Slicks/skinnies Roush upper control arm FRPP Dif girdle
E85 was worth 12HP on this car, so 12HP over stock + slicks/skinnies = 11's no problem.

That's awesome. Spawns a lot of questions for me.
I run e85 in my SRT. I had to upgrade my fuel pump, injectors, & get a tune to run it. What's it take in the coyotes?
From your experience how much will the factory clutch take before giving up?(runs down the track, horsepower)
What were you launching and shifting at?
How are the mt82 & 8.8's on the coyotes(power handling)?

Injectors only for an all motor coyote to swap to E85.
I had over 300 drag passes on the stock clutch/Trans launching anywhere from 4k to 6k.
Shift points with the stock IM were 6700/6800.
I did do a few things (later) to help with shifting, like bleed out the factory DOT 3 fluid and run Tilton TSR-1.

This is when I knew I wanted a Coyote http://youtu.be/aACnaxMjhNc
Thanks for the info, it seems to be hit or miss whether or not an mt82 will last. It looks more and more like it's due to the driver. I've done the energy suspension and whiteline bushings to help with shifting and they do that flawlessly. I didn't have any shifting problems during my dozen passes.
Since I have 3.73's I think the 26" slicks are hurting my MPH & ET a little since I'm riding 4th out to over 7k through the traps, but the 26's are still a lot better than street tires, especially at the $100 my buddy sold em to me for.
How much of a difference did the fluid change make for shifting? Did you wind up doing a braided clutch cable as well?
My shifting was not as consistent as it needs to be as far as the rpm range goes. I think most of the time I wasn't shifting until the red light on the tach came on. I'm guessing that's at 7k?
I can set a shift light on my diablosport Trinity next time [ 2014-10-18, 09:54 AM: Message edited by: FivePTSlow ]

Old used slicks may be an issue too. Just something to look at.
