After months of not knowing what I was going to do with the black car, and after realizing we realllllly wanted to race this season, 5 weeks ago project "Git 'er dun" began. After a week at the body shop, 2 weeks in the fab shop, and 2 weeks at my house, we finally have the car race ready. It wasn't cheap, it wasn't easy...but it's back.
That's not the only change. We've decided to try out something different this season and we're changing classes. The black car is going to debut in WCHRA's Drag Radial class this weekend. Yes, that means the car is now on a set of 275 M/T drag radials and those little sticks out the back are gone...
Huge thanks to everyone that helped to get the car going...Jim Harris, A & Wiltz Auto Body, DJ, my brother Gary, Manny from Five Point Tires, Adam Calderon from Calderon tires, and Chris Alston Jr..
We leave in the AM for tomorrow's test and tune session which is at 2:00PM. Come on by the pits and say hi if you are out there...

On Friday, the car left wheels up (much to high). During qualifying, we played with suspension and the tune up to tame it down and ended up spinning the tire on three attempts.
We were able to get a clean launch/leave during first round of eliminations today, but lost. The good news is that we learned some things through trial and error and have some ideas of what we need to do next time out.
Glad to be back...that's for sure. [ March 28, 2010, 06:37 PM: Message edited by: Team SOLO ]

Combo is a 436" SBC built by S&S Automotive with two direct port nitrous systems from Induction Solutions. It has a powerglide transmission and an 8.8 rearend.
It's a stock suspension car that has only seen a 28x10.5 ET Drag slick on it until about a month ago when we began testing on the 275 drag radial.
After finding an issue with the instant center of the car, we've made some changes and will be out testing again soon. In testing last weekend, we got our second best 60' ever in the car, a 1.25.

So what suspension mods do you have done to the car?

The front is pretty standard parts - tubular k-member and a-arms, manual rack, and bump steer kit. Just recently we updated to the double adjustable Varishock coil-over struts as well.
The back has seen many different parts througout the years. Currently, I'm running a set of Team Z uppers and lowers with a stock V8 spring and a pair of Afco double adjustable shocks.
