I was out there. Ran my best of 13.052 @ 108 with a 1.94 60'. My brother ran his best of 12.7 @ 111 in his 69 Mach1. I was running a lot better towards the end of the day. About .3 and 2 mph better at the end compared to the begining. Dont know why.

Get 4.30 gears for your 96 Cobra, my friend had a 97 Cobra with 4.10's and he was shifting into 4th right near the end of the 1/4 mile.

was your car the red gt with the black hood? the car looked good. when i saw the full cage and everything i thought 11's for sure. are you having issues with the motor? 347 stroker with afr 185 heads only trapping 108?

I went. Not sure if I'm happy, but I sure had fun. Got 9 good runs in. I went a best of 13.03 at 112 on street tires. I had hoped for a little more. Maybe the 2.73's need to be the next item to go. It's a full weight '95 with H/C/I Vortech'ed 8.5 to 1 302. Best 60 ft was 2.1, but most were 2.3's. Only seeing 8 lbs of boost right now, so that needs to be addressed too. Really had fun, was happy to meet Twisted5.0, wondered why he was done early? Hope it wasn't anything serious. Really had fun though, and am tempted to sell my Cobra R's for some Welds.... (Glad I didn't break anything...) [ November 20, 2005, 10:08 PM: Message edited by: a50sn95 ]

I had a run with your brother. He got me off the line and just ever so slightly just kept pulling ahead of me. He was about 1-1/2 car lengths ahead of me through the traps. Cool run, I love the 69-70's (I've had 3 70 Mach1's..) Dennis

Hey Dennis...nice meeting you as well. You're car was running really good for street tires.
I left early because something wasn't right with my car. I upped my shot to the 150 but my best ET of the day was 1/10th slower then my previous best of 11.56 with a 100 shot. I usually 60' in the low 1.6 range but the best I dould do was 1.78. My best mph was down by 2 as well. I checked the plugs and I had oil on the plug in the #5 hole... I figured I'd call it a day at that point before what ever was wrong became even worse. [ November 21, 2005, 11:53 AM: Message edited by: twisted54 ]

28 inch slick horrible 1st gear ratio in the T56 3600lbs + stock gears stock half shafts dead hook, something is bound to give sooner or later.
JeffS was just lucky ...and was also on a 26 inch slick I believe.

He had 4.10 gears FWIW but shit man I thought that's what racing was all about.
Also, I had aftermarket halfshafts and a brace on my rear end when I raced with ET Streets.

I was at the line against him when he blew his rear end...
And that was his only time at the line...If fact he had just pulled up to get his car tech'd in 5 minutes earlier... [ November 21, 2005, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: twisted54 ]

Yep, that was my car. I dont know why its so slow. Im going to get it dynoed soon to see whats up. It should be in the low 12's. The only thing I can think of is the cam and intake. Im going to switch out the Performer for a Victor 5.0. Maybe get a new cam sometime. Any ideas?

why not heads up? because I'm not dumb enough to put 28in slicks on my stock rear end car and try to launch it without breaking it.
