I have received permission from John Griggs to run the shop Road race car this wednesday. 390 rwhp with 3.75 gears, 3100 lbs, any ideas what it may run? It is sprung very stiff, so it may be fun to launch.

I dont know what times you would have, but was curious as to which car. I know the #40 was sold so that's out. Any chance on changing the rear spring rate (coilovers right?).

10's if she hooks (which she won't) I'm guessing low 13's on street tires, a squealing pedal-fest all the way to mid track. Probably near 120 mph traps too.

I can drive, I'm just not up on drag launching, I 'm a roadracer. I will be likely using Hoosier 275-40-17 road race tires which are on it, we have some 16" BFG drag radials, but I don't think they will clear the rear brakes. To answer how I get to drive the car, I work for Griggs, I've been asking to run this car on a wednesday for the last two years. Finally. Yes, this is the blue and white #40 car, it isn't sold yet. I figure letting people know what it does in the 1/4 might help. Yeah right, but it will be fun anyway. So probably 12 or 13's?

It would be best to call John, as I'm just a tech here, not in the sales department. There are different levels, front and rear, so you can do it in stages.

Well guys, sorry for being such a non launching tire spinning wanker on the strip. This will definitely take some practice. For those that didn't see, I managed a 13.15 at 118.4 MPH. They timed my 60 ft with a sundial, it was 2.371. I guess the only that wasn't bad was another Mustang beat me,10.98 at 119.6. But this was really fun to try out, and you may see more of me on the strip, likely in a different car though.

YEah, that's what I was thinking, the other car beat me by two seconds, but had the same mph. I just smoked the tires off the line(Hoosier roadrace tires)I guess if I can get it hooked up, it might run a low 11 or high 10. I most likely won't run this car again, but I'm looking for a good running fox body for my own.

I don't think I was that far off either. I predicted 120 mph traps and 10's potential, but also called for low 13's on street tires. Hmmmm...
