Dan (Gr8white) on spray vs. WIKD 281
those should be some real good runs

no doubt a re-match is on order... Mike has his work cut out for him... he's out cubed, out headed, out cammed and out suspensioned ... yet he was holding his own.

I know this is an old topic but I just got back gimme a break...
Are you guys still thinking that he sprayed ANYTHING on that pass??? Cause if so you're sadly mistaken. that car has gone 11.22@122 ON THE MOTOR!!!! And 10.70's at 128-129 on spray.... It was a great race no doubt but had Brians' Z not seriously degraded his suspension to allow for ZERO weight transfer it would still be runnin in the low 11's all motor..... I give Mike major props for being outcubed, outcammed, and still hanging in there but that Z was at least 5 tenths off his usual/best times.....

Marshal,
We've heard what Brian's car has run. He just wanted a challenging race. I never doubted any spray. Some thought he hit the juice at the Very end of the run just to get by. I don't think he did only because Mike ran his worst MPH ever and that right there would give Brian the edge at the top end on that pass. I don't wanna take anything away from the race because it was one of the best I've ever seen. Mike's fixing the clutch issue and doing an intake swap. Hopefully these guys can have another run sometime. Maybe you'd like to run Mike too. Sounds like your car is up and running with no issues. Glad to hear. Wish you the best and hopefully I'll get to see the Outlaw in action sometime soon.

I brought up the old stuff because until yesterday I couldn't log onto this board on my computer..... And I wanted to make sure that everyone is still "cool" and clear about this race that Brian wouldn't have squeezed if he said he didn't.....
Aaron, yeah the camaro is running and I've already got orders back to california where I will never leave again. I changed jobs in the Air Force and my new job (C-5 Galaxy Loadmaster) will allow me to be stationed back at Travis. I report No later than 05 Sep 03 after about 5 months of school.... I can't attend this racing season in cali but the following late summer, early fall it'll be all about racing. I will be racing in a few events out here on the east coast for shakedown passes, dyno time, and some additional mods to help drivetrain stability (can you say 1000 dollar clutch)... But other than that the car will be ready to strike deep into the 10's by the time it hits the Cali/Nevada border

Marshall Mathers - Its not a problem man. Brian has a nice ride, he won fair and square. That is understood by all. I can't wait to see the next round of mods he's coming out with, (including headers that aren't pinched half way shut )
I haven't seen your car yet, that I know of, but it sounds like a real strong runner. Good luck on your movie back to cali also

You can check out my website.... I lived in Norcal for about 7 years and then got stuck going to korea and then sent to PRISON called Virginia... Oh well... I've spent the last year getting over the motor that I melted the first month I was in VA.... The old motor with stock internals, heads, cam, all the bolt ons and nitrous (150 shot) went 11.40@122mph and cranked out 442RWHP and 585RWTQ. The new motor is all forged with heavily ported heads, big cam, ported manifold, 11.75:1 compression, long tubes, 4" Mufflex exhaust all wrapped up in a 6 speed drivetrain with a 35 splined 9" rear with a detroit locker.... The new motor should easily be capable of equaling or surpassing what the old motor did WITH juice. Brian and my car will be very evenly matched. Mine will probably go faster than 10.78 (brians best so far) due to weight. His car is about 500lbs heavier than mine as mine is a stripped down optionwise 1LE... I plan on lightening it even more in the next couple of months. Brian is also using a dry nitrous system which jetted at 150 is only getting him about 6 tenths and like 5 or so mph???? I'm gonna ditch the dry system and run a TNT wet plate jetted for 150 initially until I build up my fuel system and run a 200 shot.
New fuel system calls for a Speed Inc Aluminum sumped tank, Aeromotive 1000hp inline pump, -10 feed, -6 return lines....

How much does Brian's car weigh? How much does yours weigh? That night I saw Brian run he gained 9-10 MPH off the nitrous.

Brian's car with him in it is about 3800+ lbs.... Keep in mind he goes like 280-300 as he's a pretty big dude.....
My car when it was a heavy pig with 17x9.5 SS wheels, heavy ass stereo, and waay before I lightened it like removing front bumper support and some other odds and ends like front sway bar weighed 3450 with me in it and half a tank of gas...
Now I'm guessing it's more like 3400 or so with me in it.... I swapped the 17's to weld draglites and skinnies, removed a bunch of stuff like front swaybar, bumper support, swaybar brackets, rear seat backrest, AIR pump, got rid of all the aftermarket stereo stuff which was probably 100 lbs alone (amp, woofers, box)..... My cage was 82 lbs of steel which offset losing the stereo but you get the point.... Like I said I'm guessing 3350-3400 race weight including me...
