with gears, slick-equivalent tires, if you can't run a 13.5 you need to replace the driver! heh j/k

With the mods you have right now, you should hit flat 14's or hi 13's. If you replace the street tires with drags you might hit 13.5 or so....that is if you know what you are doing behind the wheel [ November 06, 2001: Message edited by: NiTrOSS'00 ]

I'm gonna agree with Blown93. I hit 13.87 back in April with only 98.xx mph. Most stock 99+ run 98 mph stock so I don't see why they can't do it. He's not saying you're gonna average this ET but he's saying it can definitely be done, and I agree. It took me a 1.98 60' to get it done and like he said 2.10+ ain't gonna cut it.

I agree with you boy. Not to down'stang owners, but I don't remember ever seeing a dead stock GT (99+) hit anywhere below 14'2...on october 20th there were a couple (not sure if they had any mods or anthing) and they hit low 14's to flat 14's......I don't recall seing any of them hit the 13's......maybee I'm wrong but i dont remember ever seeing that......modified cobras hit mid 13's like mike hit 13.3 or something like that, and you expect a gt to hit 13.5.........I dont know.....well good luck anyway, let us know how it goes

first of all most people at the track have no idea on how to drive. It takes a while to learn your car and really know how to move it off the line with limited traction. Most guys at the track are cutting 2.15-2.3 60' times and that's not gonna get you anywhere. You need to be at 2.00 no matter what the track condition. ET is a matter of traction and MPH is horsepower. Look at what Brandon/Denise have done with their 01 TA. 12.66 at 110 with DR's only! Nobody else runs those times but they did and have been cutting several 12.9's lately. Only reason is cause their 60' times are 1.95-2.05 consistently. While everyone else is running 13.3-13.4 he's bangin down times that usually require a few mods.

I know, 50% of your ET depends on how good you handle your car, and what kind of a driver you are. My car should be hitting way better times than I am, but I'm not a profesional racer............we were saying what PEOPELE with THEIR cars make......if i was to put a pro behind my wheel, i should be hitting 12.5 at least.........you know what i mean..a lot of it does depend on the driver

like seriously...I have to thank TRY2PAZ and especially Ron, JSGIVUP and RiddlerGT for trying to help me cut my times. Not everyone on the board is a professional racer. My first time driving stick was with my mustang which i got 5 months ago. I have only being driving stick for 5 months not like years like a lot of other people. I had only raced on the street like twice and it was my first time at the track ever. I don't think we need to trash talk here, why can't we just help like the awesome guys that are trying to help me. Instead of saying that their driving sucks, why don't you help them out instead of being such a lazy bitch and trash talking. Thanks to all the cool people on this board.

I got $20 says I can. Seen it MANY times, I weigh 140lbs.. Guaranteed it would happen. In a word, "yes", I can drive. Aaron has seen it, 2.0x ALL DAY LONG on 245 street tires and 375rwhp, and then a 1.95. Stock gt's = Much less rwhp, easier to launch. Derek went 13.84 down to the paper filter, and at SEARS POINT! I know guys who've done it, ask around on this board, just about EVERYONE in a 99+ gt is turning 2.15+ on t heir 60's...those don't make 13 sec. runs. Cut 2.05 or so, or better, and you're there with some quick shifting. [ November 07, 2001: Message edited by: Blown93Snake ]

That's all well and good. My $20 bet stands. How many attempts do you want? I think 2 would be fair.
