The market is soft, and people would rather pickup a bucket and build it themselves instead of taking over all the upgrades you have.
$3500 to 4500 depending on the person. GT's are not as strong as a coupe but yours is clean.
The ponies should be silver and not rattle canned. I'd stay away from the dark rims unless they are a more quality rim.
You never get what you put into it, so i'd say keep it unless your done with stangs.

I'd pay 4-4500 maybe after seeing it in person. If its as clean as it is in pics should be worth 4k easy

I would do the following:
Get it smoggable - People are scared of cars that can't pass smog! You are reducing your buyer pool by selling it as a smog liability.
Take some very detailed pics
Post it on Ebay
Don't take a penny under $4000
Those Pony's color isn't helping either.
It is not a seller's market at this time so keep that in mind.

Yup.... Not a sellers market for sure. The economy is bad, gas prices are though he roof. It's all signs of hyper inflation and people are looking for fuel efficient cars and as for mustangs even if they are clean people won't pay what they would have 2 years ago.

^this! I personally wouldnt buy a car that does not pass smog. As a buyer, this would have me turning around. I hear how people have a terrible time passing smog. Why would I want to deal with that? just my opinion as a buyer, but the car does look great. Good luck

Car seems pretty clean but damn the wheels are killing it, just put them back to silver and that thing should sell better. i would do the wheels smog it and ask 5000-5500 obo. Probably end up selling around 4500-5000 to a mustang guy

That's completely beside the point.
The car will need to be smogged. The vast majority of buyers will prefer this to be done by the seller (not just to save on the hassle/cost of getting it smogged but ALSO to prove that it can actually pass. Why would I take that chance and risk having to do smog repairs because it can't pass smog)
For 2500 I might take that chance, but for 4500 I will not.
I'm just telling you what most potential buyers are thinking and nothing more.

No smog not a problem, what dreamland world do you live in where a untagged, unregistered car is worth shit? Last time i checked you have to trailer that shit home or risk it getting towed by the police. Also if you're shits got a miss, might need some engine dis-assembly which if I was a buyer I wouldn't offer your shit anything near 4500 unless you got your shit together and smogged the car. You're bolt on vehicles never going to be worth 6k without the smog done homie.

The seller of the vehicle is required to smog the vehicle before selling it.
This is from the DMV website........ When selling a California registered vehicle, the registered owner of record must:
•Provide the purchaser with evidence of a valid smog certification, if applicable. Smog certificates are good for 90 days from the date of inspection. The smog certification is not required if the owner or buyer signs a statement that smog certification was submitted with renewal fees within 90 days prior to the transfer date (a vehicle inspection report may be required for proof of certification).

There is a huge difference between a classic car and a run of the mill 80s fox body mustang. Fox's will never be worth big money except the speciality models. Theres just a bunch of people running around thinking they could get 6-7k for a basic fox body when in reality its only worth $2500. I sold my old 88gt 2 years ago that was in decent shape with a current smog paper for $2200 with absolutely no problems. [ February 28, 2012, 05:56 PM: Message edited by: Robb ]
