Ha ha

The air force is very hard to get into, they are critiqued the most out of all the different branches. Your IQ level has to be extremely high to even qualify. Another qualification is I believe you must be married, this shows a level of maturity and devotion. Weird stuff but a air force pilot told me that.

you don't have to be a Pilot to be in the Airforce, there's plenty of other fields that you can be used for and be able to apply it later on in Life.

Go talk to a recruiter!

Must be married??? [Roll Eyes] NO

High IQ....NO, but is is considered a little harder to get in than the other branches.

Take the ASVAB test, and see what you qualify to do job wise.

I grew up on AF bases what you say is all true except the marriage part..lol. If I could do it over again I would have done 20 years and been retired by now.

I know quite a few AF guys and dealt with a ton during my Army stint,

1. No you don't have to be married.

2. More College you have under your belt the better they are pickier.

3. Talk to a Recruiter and take the ASVAB you want to make sure you qualify for jobs other then Laundry Specialist!

4. You ain't gonna be no AF fighter pilot, lol sorry but those guys are all type A personalities with perfect backgrounds that knew they were gonna fly jets when they were like 6 years old and most of them get a real early start on college or the Air Force Academy which no one on CAfords is going to.

I was wrong about the marriage aspect but mainly I was talking about pilots for the AF.

The requirements that need to be met to be one are crazy.

You will need a degree if you intend to become an officer/pilot. Doesn't matter what it's in... Basket Weaving will work.

Or, you can enlist, and work on getting your degree while you are in. The cut off for becoming an officer is 34 years of age.

Again, GO TALK TO A RECRUITER!

An old friend I used to work with had South Korea on his "wishlist"..(Asian Fantasy), After a few years of being placed at different places. He is Now in South Korea. If he can get it, Im sure anyone else can, might take some time but you get it.

Vandenberg Air Force Base is where you want to get stationed at. [patriot]

I would also get into jet turbine engines, electrical or hydraulics.

My friend just enlisted in the army wanted to fly blackhawks, and with 2 degrees (ba's from oregon state) and a 3.9 gpa he didn't qualify for pilot ocs, I guess he said they changed the rules this year you have to have 4.0 versus how if you had any college degree you could get into pilot ocs rather easy, he now is a door gunner on a blackhawk and supposed to "work his way up" into pilot ocs, hope this answers some questions, and is any of this true? i heard this second hand.

im in the marines and its hard as hell to get into any branch because of the downsizing of the military. the usmc is down sizing from about 200k to around 160-170k. so your best bet would just go talk to a recruiter
