Zoo, Sea World, Lego Land is close, go on the aircraft carrier in down town, a few other boats to go on down town also. Also there are a ton of museums at Balboa Park.

I go drinking at Gaslamp and Pacific Beach.
With the little ones, I'd spend time on the coast! Mission beach, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, etc.

Don't get me started. Everyone of my friends who moved down there for school never came back. And I get out there to visit every chance I get.
Too bad the tech industry is small and there are few jobs for me relative to the Bay Area.
