Mustang wasn't released until mid year 1964 at the World's Fair. There also is no BOSS 289; The BOSS Mustang wasn't out until 1969. They had the BOSS 302 and BOSS 429.
With that said, welcome to CAFords and happy Mustang'ing!

There is no way a dealer could have a handful of Mustangs in '63 because Ford did not announce them to the public until 1964. It is physically and factually impossible. [ April 25, 2007, 10:20 PM: Message edited by: MustangNate ]

There actually IS a 1963 Mustang. It was called the Mustang II and was the prototype/concept for the Mustang production car.
It wasn't called a boss Mustang though.

There was only one Mustang II prototype made and it is in the Owls Head Transportation Museum on loan from the Detriot Historical Museum. I am not quite sure how a boss mustang would be made before or at the same time as the prototype.
