I don't believe this. Fisrt, I highly doubt it's legal to fire someone on a social network. Second, I doubt that the boss has the power to fire someone on the spot unless it was a small business and he was the owner. Employment terminations have to go through HR 1st. Lastly, who cares what someone has to say about their boss online. And if she got fired for calling her boss a "wanker" on a social network, then that'll be a violation of her freedom of speech.
Sorry for the buzz kill. But I call BS on this one.

BULLSHIT, not in their 6 month trial, if that's what's in their contract when hired, which is common.

Still have to go through HR, unless he is the owner. Yes, it's a whole lot easier to fire someone under probation, but the fact remains the same. The boss has to go through HR 1st.

This appears to be in England or somewhere over there and so you never know how the laws are written or applied. The way she posted it looks just like one of those stupid little girls that are better than everyone else, I had an EX that acted just like that.

kinda reminds me of the time, I was in a webEx meeting and the presenter shared his desktop rather than shared his program. And we saw all the shit he was talking over instant messenger about a co-worker that was on the webEx meeting. It was the most uncomfortable meeting ever. I mean he ripped for about a good 10 minutes while in this meeting. Finally someone said "Erm John, we can see what you are writing". It was eery silence then a pink slip after that.

WRONG!
RIGHT (well in most corporate cases). Also depends on if the employee is a employee versus a contractor. And unless it was witnessed typed by the individual that firing would not stand up in court. As she can say her account was compromised. I have seen this happen before.

I call on this. What you say or do on your OWN time is your business. Cannot be fired or dismissed for that.

depends on what or if they had a handbook and what was written in that book. If she is defacing the company then they may have just cause for termination but to me it all seems like a nice little internet spoof. I watch what i say on facebook because my boss is on there as well as coworkers...
