I have a car that has a new paint job and i need to remove a decent amount of dust. The problem is the car is in a garage where it can't be removed and has no windows. Black paint an I want to clean it then cover It.

What I would do is use a water bottle or even a spray on wax and spray a panel at a time and wipe off, depending on how much dust,u might gave to repeat the process,or a bucket of water with a microfiber towel like if your washing it,and dry it with a microfiber cloth towl.

Good info I'll look into it. I didn't think that this much dust would build up so fast [ November 10, 2011, 10:26 PM: Message edited by: SIC70STANG ]

If you use anything that is rough, even microfibers, it'll swirl the paint as dust is incredibly abrasive.
The california car duster is a good option!

+1 I always run water on the car for a period of time depending on how much dust is built up before even attempting to wipe it..anywhere from 2-5 min if u want to minimize swirls

You could always hit it with an air gun first if you have a compressor to get as much off as possible first. Then use the car duster.

careful using the califorina car duster they work good but depending on your color can end up leaving lots of small fine scratches. ask the guy whos black car looks like it was washed with an S.O.S. pad.

yeah black with a california car scratcher is not a good idea unless you plan on using spray wax as soon as your done.

This is what I do for my DHG paint.. If it is a day's worth of dust, the CA duster will work fine, except for the rear of the car if you have big meats (315). Sometimes the rear picks up some nasty stuff and it will make your duster smear.
If it is more than a day's dust, you can soak a microfiber towel in water and spray the car with a good detailer preferably with wax in it and wipe the dust off lightly with the wet micro towel. then you can use a dry micro fiber to dry it. then you can touch it up with the detailer and clean micro fiber towel. This is what I do to avoid washing the car with water. My car hardly ever sees water...

And when you wash it, wipe from front to back of car.. not in a circular motion. Circular motion = swirls
