Agree with hidden, but also with backinblack. It would be nice not having to drive an hour plus just to get to a track around here.

They need a track in the Bay Area. Then there is no excuse for any street racing.

i do agree with this law, but what i dont agree is that officers now a days pulled u over just cause the way your car looks or sounds, and since now they have the right to open your hood and fine u for anything. it just really sucks that i cant really drive my car peacefull without thinking that i will get pulled over and gets fines for stupid shit.

Not on that bill, but technically officers could have you pop your hood open for anything under the sun.

I've been asked before and I just told them no, haggled back and forth for a few minutes, and he went on his way.

not that it matters since my car is completely smog legal, but it would just be a big waste of time since a police officer wont know what the hell he's looking at anyways.

They can pass all the bills they want.

They will never stop street racing since they are not enough dragstrips in the West Coast. Besides developers see more profit from building apartment complexes or housing tracts then a mile long of asphalt for gearheads like us.

The bottom line = $$$$$$$$$$$$ and it isn't going to us..

stupid laws.

When will they learn that taking a counteractive approach towards street racing never works.

they need to take a pro active approach and open a drag strip.

I did a research paper and they noted a huge drop of illegal street racing activity once they open a drag strip. It was like a 85 percent drop in street racing activity noted by the cops. I wish i had that research paper still saved that why i can cite you stupid bastards that think harsher penalties solves streetracing

OK - I'll change it up. "They" need to get more police officers out there to enforce the fucking laws they have in place already - not add onto the ones "they" already have.

How many times has people out there been on the road and seen some dipshit pull something either really stupid, really dangerous, totally assnine, or just plain driving stupid or seemingly drunk/intoxicated? Happens every day doesn't it. There is a good reason why it's pretty normal to say "there is never a cop around when you need one".

Bottom line - if you can't enforce the laws effectively, then they don't mean shit. Piling on more may make you feel good - but that's about it.

"They" will never learn - obviously [Roll Eyes] "They" would rather charge you with a felony for simply doing (for example) a little stop-light warrior action when no one else is around... instead of putting enough officers in place to (for example) go after the idiots that think it's cool to freeway race in traffic with their little fart cans [Roll Eyes]

The one thing that bothers me is how cops use the street racing charge. I got on it from a stop and got pulled over. I should have been charged with exibition of speed, thats what I did and I admit it. He gave me a speed contest ticket because there was a car behind me and I was "racing" with it. It was an old lady that I had just passed a few blocks past, there was no race. I had to go to court and ended up getting it knocked down to an unsafe start. If I'm engaged in a speed contest then I'll take the ticket. I dont do as much wrong now as I did years ago but still mess around once in a while.... the difference is its usually out on an empty area of road so I dont hurt anyone else if something goes wrong.

how much was your unsafe start ticket, i was just issued a ticket for that, I asked the cop to give me a municiple-code ticket for friction marks, even told her the code for it, she said she already had the ticket wrote up, because she couldnt remember that code i told her...
