What's there to explain? The man wants to sell his car and wants no part of it on cafords, lol.
I did the same thing and someone still dragged my FS thread here so a half dozen people could tell me I am asking way too much (even though it sold lol)

I don't think he's asking why he didn't post it on cafords but why he's selling it general.

Ah fair enough. I thought it was more of a why not post here. Generally "why for sale" are the same. Needs money, or wants something faster lol. [ December 13, 2010, 01:42 AM: Message edited by: bottled95GT?? ]

In no way was the post intended to be taken out of proportion or taken the wrong way towards his car... for the record.
The thread was to either be a farewell from being a mustang owner or new/faster machine up his sleeve, thats all... wow.

I know why he's doing it, but it has nothing to do with buying a house. We talked about it quite a bit yesterday while we were tuning my Cobra...

TOTALLY! Complete waste of time to post this on CAFORDS as it would just get a bunch of dumbasses commenting on how they could by a nicer car on Craigslist for $3k
This car is worth EVERY penny. It is one of the few foxbodies that has been built right.
I saw this car run a 10.4 in Sac. Shaun took it to the pits, bolted on the street wheels and drove it home... SIMPLY BAD ASS!

Believe me, it's a tough call. I've been debating selling the car for over a year now.
Simple truth is we want to step up our game at AED. This means buying the new Ford vehicles for testing/racing, with a turnaround of a few years. (New model, new AED project car) This way we can stay on top of our game. And I don't need/want 2 project cars.
No other reason aside from I've done all I want with the car and therefore have driven it less than 200 miles in the last 2 years! It runs hard, scares the shit out of me, and the last thing I want to do is go slower! LOL
I didn't post up on ANY local message board. Nothing against CaFords, I'd just rather not see someone beat up this beauty, and therefore would prefer an out of state sale.
I pray the car goes to a responsible/mature owner.

Shaun, if you haven't already, corral and svtp to reach the broadest audience.
I sold my last two Mustangs on the corral, both to out of state buyers. It was silky smooth both times.

What is involved when selling a car out of state ( i.e. transfering funds, vehicle delivery, etc.) So many thieves and flakes out there how do you have faith or trust in the potential buyer?

8stang8, you are right in that it is a bit concerning not dealing face to face due to fraud. In a nutshell, I ask for a cashiers check from the buyer's bank. I personally call their bank to make sure the funds are there at the time I make the deposit (based on the check ID numbers). When the deposit clears, and ONLY when the deposit clears, do I release the car to the shipping company.
Other than that, all the remaining title/Bill of sale details are the same as selling your car to a local cafords member who lives in East Oakland or Richmond's Iron Triangle. Easy! The other nice thing is I don't care about smog since they have to re-smog in their state anyway.
